A year ago I decided to do a 10 year health checkup with my family doctor. I thought it was easy to complete the physical exam and the required bloodwork with the expectation that all was fine. I received the findings from the labs and found I was tipping the scales for my weight, in the range as a pre-diabetic, and poised for a heart attack with high cholesterol and blood pressure. I then asked my doctor what I could do to be more healthy and he said I was young, had healthy parents but if I was really concerned I could take medicine to fix all of the issues on my labs. I asked about other options and he shrugged it off saying due to my age there wasn’t really any action to take. I thought this was a crazy approach to fixing my problems and started to pursue alternative options. That is when I was referred to Elizabeth Cassano by a friend and was ecstatic to learn that through food and healthy living comes wellness. In the past when I had attempted any type of food or exercise modifications I was met with resistance at home. Other family members in the house who wanted to continue eating junk, buying fast food, and enjoying all of the Louisiana food options were difficult to convince we needed a change. I enlisted the help of Coach Elizabeth with the goal of educating my household family members so that they would be willing and open to try new and healthier food options. She was up to the task including working with a teenager that only ate Ramen noodles along with a partner that grew up on rice and gravy and diet Dr. Pepper. We began our journey together in the middle of 2019 and immediately I had more energy, lost 20 lbs over the course of 3 months (without counting calories, reducing carbs or following any of the current diet programs) and changed my relationship with meat. During this learning opportunity I realized that health comes from all types of food items. I also learned that I am in control of my health by choosing “real foods” and that the main item on the plate does not have to be a meat based protein. I also began to understand the direct impact that processed sugars, wheat, corn and tricky ingredient labels really have on our health. Now, as I move into 2020 food has taken on a different meaning due to the overwhelming impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. I am breathing a sigh of relief as I successfully shop for our “standard” food items without worry that they won’t be available. As others are panicked that there is no bread, pasta or milk on the shelves, I confidently move through the grocery picking up items that my family enjoys, confident that we will have enough food. Most importantly, my teenager has allowed Coach Elizabeth to discuss food possibilities, encourage exploration of new items and help to grow a vision that food can heal the body if given the chance.
My goal of working with Coach Elizabeth was to be a healthier and happier person. Elizabeth was able to help me achieve this goal by helping me with a better attitude and suggesting other opportunities for replacing foods I always ate. I will continue exploring foods and like the plan I created for myself. Elizabeth is Nice, Kind, Motivational and Encouraging. I would recommend Elizabeth to anyone and everyone.
Emma, a 13-yr old beyond her years
For the past three years I have been struggling with digestive/dietary issues. Constant throwing up, weight loss, and lack of energy had become the norm. During this time I sought both medical and dietary guidance. Nothing seemed to work very well until I connected with Elizabeth Cassano. She immediately addressed my lack of nutrition, recommending some necessary vitamins and dietary supplements. This first step was monumental in reversing my declining situation. With Elizabeth’s guidance I became very much more aware of what I was eating, my body’s reaction, and the digestive processes that were taking place. Probably most importantly, with Elizabeth’s counseling, I was able to better understand and take full ownership of what was going on with my body. This knowledge allows me to make informed decisions. I am no longer throwing up, I have gained a few pounds, and I have energy again. Thank you, Elizabeth!
My #1 goal for signing up for Elizabeth’s thyroid webinar was to learn more about thyroid functions. Elizabeth was able to help me achieve this goal, and YES, learned tons. She shared incredible information on this complex issue. I would describe Elizabeth as highly knowledgeable about thyroid issues AND other complicated health issues, as well. She is genuinely sincere and open about her own experience. She is definitely giving of her knowledge and kindness of others. I would highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone having thyroid issues or even if you are searching for answers. Keep doing videos!!! Love that you are willing to locate answers to specific questions and email listeners.
E, I thoroughly enjoyed your challenge! I did all the meal prep on Sunday which was ah-mazing during the week- I didn’t have to think about what’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner! What I found most interesting was I have NO cravings! I seriously didn’t want a candy bar all day, which is NOT the norm for me! I was full from breakfast smoothly all the way to lunch. Which is also NOT the norm for me. The food I was eating was obviously fulfilling what my body needed! I loved waking up drinking lemon water! It kicked me into gear! I cannot say enough about how awesome the past week was even in the midst of it being my busiest week of the year! Thank you for sharing and for following your dreams and desires! I’m on a mission to get me and my family on a healthy train that fits us. I just think we are onto something! I look forward to participating in your next few challenges! Next time I will journal- that is something I failed at.
Thank you very much! I am so excited to get more of your recipes!! Really the best part was how easy and fast the meals were! I loved the shopping list! It was perfect so I had everything at home ready to make! The smoothies were great for fast on the go mornings and they filled me up and lasted! I don’t get that with other smoothies! I also learned that I don’t have to eat so much at one sitting! Small meals work better for me, prevents the heartburn and indigestion! After the first 3 days I felt much better even though I am fighting sinus infections! I’m hopping with more clean eating and discovery that it might get better as well! I was going to text you about your thoughts on that as well as some other stuff like hair loss, nails splitting and dry skin! But I’ll wait for my one on one! I’m so excited! Your delivery was perfect, email and FB! Everyone could reply when they had time! I can’t say enough how simple everything was! The recipes were not complicated as I am no cook! Thank you for everything!
Loved the program and the recipes!!! Thanks for giving me a kickstart! I look forward to another program in the future!
I have been a workaholic for the past 3-4 years. After my last primary care visit, all the work and lack of “me” time finally reared it’s ugly head. I have never had bad results at a doctor visit until this year!!! I had unintentional weight loss, poor cholesterol numbers and a tremor that just weren’t right for a 30-something. Rather than choose a pill, I opted to get a second opinion with Elizabeth. While she may not be a “traditional” route for healthy living, my phone conversation with her left me with two pages of notes and an alternative path to change my results. It was nice because I felt like she dug a little deeper than the results given to me on paper. (Which you should also have handy when you talk to her) She can help you see that sometimes it is more than just numbers. She helps you figure out how to take care of the entire YOU. It’s been about three weeks since we spoke. While I haven’t been perfect with my eating and exercise, I have definitely noticed a change in how I feel. She helped start me on a path to more energy, a clear mind and satisfied stomach. My tremor has calmed down. I am actually excited for my next doctor’s appointment!
Elizabeth offers suggestions and tweaks to my health regimen that support my personal goals. I go to her for input on new food options and recipes I’d never consider on my own as she’s done a lot of food research and experimentation in the kitchen to apply to her coaching. She’s a constant source of encouragement as well. She helps me think outside of my own box!
